Christ crucified is God’s power and wisdom

8. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

_ 1 Corinthians 1:18 (NIVUK)

The cross was the symbol of the most dreadful execution in the entire history of human. After Christianity was officially recognised by the great Constantine, the cross has been the main symbol for many Christian churches up to the present. When we see the cross, at one time or another we think of other way instead of the crucifixion. However, there was no other way because God, who is the most intelligent being, chose this way. Even though that was horrified to us, we have the redemption and become his children. How should we live infant of him?

First, we must hate sin. Many people of this world go to the hell because of it. To be honest, we often feel committing sins against the Lord is nothing, for we think we are forgiven by his grace. This means sins are not repulsive to you. For this reason, we cannot escape from the chains of sin. Remember the salvation, the forgiveness of sins, is the most precious present. Second, starting from now, as we are the children, we have to participate in hardship. For whoever want to follow him, that should bear their cross. 

To follow him, we have to turn away from the world and obey his word. The eucharist is to remember his love and sacrifice. To do that, we ought to bear the cross with delight, then he pours out his spirit on us.
