Passion Week - Day 3, Faith and Obedience

The parable of the two sons

28. ‘What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, “Son, go and work today in the vineyard.”

29. ‘“I will not,” he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.

30. ‘Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, “I will, sir,” but he did not go.

31. ‘Which of the two did what his father wanted?’ ‘The first,’ they answered. Jesus said to them, ‘Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 

32. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.

Faith begins with accepting an absolute authority, which comes from the Lord. When you do it, many changes will be happened in your life. For instance, everything in faith becomes mandatory. Sometimes, we may feel hard of it, but it must change us into a shape he wants. God is the absolute for those who do the best possible to him. Also, your attitude will be changed when you tune your heart to the Lord. 

His kingdom is ruled by the power, and there is no grey area in it. It means you have to choose believe him or not in the faith. Even though you did not obey to his words, you can still walk in the way of righteousness if you repent, which returns your direction to the right way.

We read that the firs son obeyed to his father in the end. For those who act like him, they will be in the heaven. We can assume what the Lord expects us from the story. He wants to see ‘faithfulness’ in us. To have it, we have to tune our heart in hum. People who put them into practice, are happy because God is delighted with it. His heart and feeling are important to us. Walk in the way of obedience.
